Masahiro Tanaka allowed three runs on eight hits in 7 2/3 innings in the second game of a doubleheader against the Red Sox. Tanaka did not walk a batter and struck out nine in a losing effort. He has a 5.33 ERA and will face the Mariners in Seattle on July 22.

Fantasy Impact:

This marks four quality starts in Tanaka's last five starts and he has struck out at least five batters in each of his last seven starts. He has 112 strikeouts and just 27 walks in 109 2/3 innings this season, posting a respectable 1.35 WHIP. Current Mariners have a .531 OPS in 69 career at-bats against Tanaka and he is 3-5 with a 5.88 ERA on the road this season.
