Carlos Carrasco strikes out 10 in loss to A's

Carlos Carrasco surrendered five runs in 6 1/3 innings despite striking out 10 in a loss to the A's.

Fantasy Impact:

Extra base hits did him in as he saw a manageable 2-0 deficit doubled with a pair of solo shots in the fifth inning; overall, five of the six hits he coughed up went for extra bases which certainly did not help his cause. Otherwise, Carrasco was dealing, striking out 10 before bowing out a third of the way through the bottom of the seventh. Given it was his first loss since June 3rd, he's still sporting a nice 10-4 record with a strong 3.65 ERA and a stellar 1.09 WHIP to go with 124 strikeouts in 111 innings. He gets the Giants next.
