Michael Pineda opts for Tommy John surgery

After receiving a second opinion, Michael Pineda has decided to undergo Tommy John surgery. Last week, Pineda was diagnosed with a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament. (Yankees on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
This was ultimately expected, and now Pineda will miss all of this season and likely a majority of the 2018 campaign as he recovers from surgery. It's disappointing as he showed promise, despite continued inconsistency, this season.
