Wil Myers goes hitless at Coors Field on Monday
by Brad Richter | Tue, Jul 18th 3:03pm EDT
Wil Myers had a forgettable night on Monday going 0-for-5 with four strikeouts during a 9-6 loss to the Rockies at Coors Field. He also stranded five runners on base.
Fantasy Impact:
The Rockies pitching staff had their way with Myers on Monday which has been a disturbing trend for him in July. Through 11 games this month, Myers has already struck out 21 times for a 45.7% strikeout rate. His average has also dipped this month (.190) which has lowered his season average down to .251. It could just be a midseason slump for Myers but it comes at a bad time with the Padres playing in hitter-friendly Coors Field. Myers will look to get back on track Tuesday night against the Rockies and Antonio Senzatela who Myers has gone 3-for-5 against with a double and a triple in his career.
