Matt Carpenter finished 2-for-5 with a double, RBI and a run scored as the Cardinals rout the Cubs 11-4, including scoring nine runs in the eighth inning in the opening game of their three-game series on Friday.
Fantasy Impact:
Carpenter has come out hot after the All-Star Break. He is now hitting .387 (12-for-31) since the break and overall, he is now hitting .252/.383/.456 on the season. After a poor first half, it is good to see Carpenter turning it around. Carpenter and the Cardinals look to take another game from their rival Cubs when they take on LHP Jon Lester and the Cubs on Saturday.
