Julio Teheran gets first road loss Saturday night

by Steve Painter | Sun, Jul 23rd 1:37am EDT

Julio Teheran toed the rubber against the Dodgers Saturday night and came away with his first road loss of the year. Over 6 1/3, he allowed nine hits, four runs (all earned), and one walk while recording six strikeouts. The old lefty curse that Teheran suffers held true tonight as Chase Utley and Corey Seager each blasted solo shots but righty Chris Taylor joined in with his own solo shot as well. With the loss, Teheran sports a 7-8 record on the year. He is scheduled to pitch again Friday against Jeremy Hellickson and the Phillies in Philadelphia unless traded.

Fantasy Impact:

Teheran has definite issues against lefties but who wouldn't against this lineup? He has quite a bit left to offer and if a solid pitching coach gets him he can become dominate again. If he stays with Atlanta it'll be more of the same for fantasy owners: bench him at SunTrust and pitch him on the road, with few exceptions.
