Masahiro Tanaka with home run issues once again
by Chris Zolli | Sun, Jul 23rd 2:44pm EDT
Masahiro Tanaka allowed four runs on seven hits in six innings against the Mariners on Saturday. Tanaka struck out six and did not walk a batter, allowing two home runs. He has a 5.37 ERA this season and will face the Rays in New York on July 28.
Fantasy Impact:
Tanaka's month of July is an odd one for sure, as he has 28 strikeouts and just two walks in 25 innings, but is 1-2 with a 4.68 ERA. Five home runs in his last three starts explain a lot of his issues, as his 26 home runs allowed this season are a career-high. Tanaka has faced the Rays twice this season, going 0-2 with a 13.76 ERA and five home runs allowed.
