by Robert Finkelstein | Mon, Jul 24th 5:29pm EDT

Taylor Motter has been optioned by Seattle to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday. In a corresponding move, the Mariners could add Danny Espinosa, who agreed to a Major League contract with the team on Sunday, to the active roster. (mynorthwest.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Motter, a 27-year-old infielder, has cooled off considerably, hitting .180 with two home runs and 10 RBIs in his past 52 games. Motter's demotion was sealed when he made a costly base-running error in Sunday's game against the Yankees. He was picked off first base when he came on as a pinch runner in the bottom of the ninth with no outs, and the Mariners trailing by two runs.
