Joey Votto

Joey Votto reaches base four times in loss

by Collin Moran | Blue Jays Correspondent | Thu, Jul 27th 12:06am EDT

Joey Votto went 2-for-2 with two singles and two walks on Wednesday. He also scored a run.

Fantasy Impact:

Votto has looked nothing like the player he was in the first half of the season. With the two hits on Wednesday he only has seven hits since the break, none of which have gone for extra bases. Amazingly Votto has 12 walks compared to 10 strikeouts in the second half meaning that he could be suffering from some bad luck. He has a very low BAbip of .172 to start the second half which is far from his .291 BAbip in the first half. He is still a beast at the plate and once his batted balls start to find some room he'll be back to his usual self. Now provides a good time to buy on the elite slugger if there is a worried owner in your league.
