Matt Harvey set to make rehab start Saturday

by Nick Ritrivi | Sat, Aug 12th 8:45am EDT

Matt Harvey, who has been on the DL since June 15 due to a right shoulder stress injury, will begin a rehab assignment on Saturday for the Single-A Brooklyn Cyclones. The Mets have indicated that if all goes well on Saturday, he will make at least one more rehab start in the minors before coming off the DL and rejoining the Mets. As such, Harvey could be back as soon as late-August. (NY Daily News)

Fantasy Impact:

In 13 starts in 2017, Harvey owns an unimpressive 5.25 ERA and 1.45 WHIP in 70 1/3 IP. He also owns a somewhat mediocre 54:35 K:BB ratio. Despite the poor stats, it is unclear to what extent his recovery from his 2016 surgery and current injury played into the poor start to his season. Harvey is certainly worth a flier in deeper leagues where he may have been dropped by frustrated owners and could potentially serve as a difference maker down the stretch if he can regain some of his "2015-form".
