Juan Minaya pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday against the Rangers to protect a 4-3 lead and earn his first save of the season. He allowed one walk and struck out one.
Minaya was thought to be a ninth inning option for the White Sox, and sure enough, he received and converted with ease the save opportunity on Friday. It's a good bet that Minaya will get the remaining save opportunities for the White Sox for the rest of the season, so long as he pitches competently.
