Dellin Betances the new closer in New York

by Chris Zolli | Sun, Aug 20th 8:44am EDT

Dellin Betances pitched a clean ninth inning to earn the save on Saturday. Betances struck out two batters without a walk, his first save attempt after Aroldis Chapman was removed as closer. He has a 2.11 ERA and 1.17 WHIP this season.

Fantasy Impact:

Betances has allowed three baserunners in nine innings this month, earning three saves. He has allowed just one run in 18 2/3 innings since the All-Star break and has struck out 28 batters while walking seven. If Betances continues as the closer in New York, he is easily a top-10 (and possibly a top-five) RP.
