Matt Boyd blasted for seven runs in loss

by Brad Richter | Wed, Aug 23rd 7:34am EDT

Matt Boyd (5-7) gave up seven runs on seven hits in just 2 1/3 innings on Tuesday during a 13-4 loss to the Yankees. Boyd gave up a three-run homer to Gary Sanchez in the first inning before giving up four more runs in the third inning. He walked three and struck out two.

Fantasy Impact:

Boyd has now allowed at least three runs in 14 straight starts on his way to a 6.24 ERA this season. The 26 year-old southpaw is suffering from some bad luck with a .361 BABIP but is still unusable in fantasy leagues even in a favorable matchup with the White Sox in his next start on Sunday.
