Jeff Samardzija throws a complete-game shutout

Jeff Samardzija pitched his best game of the season on Monday against the Padres, throwing nine innings of shutout ball. He allowed just three hits and struck out five.
Fantasy Impact:
Although it was against the light-hitting Padres, the outing was still incredibly impressive, as the Shark needed just 102 pitches to complete the game. While his numbers haven't quite matched the underlying metrics this season, he remains a fairly reliable starter. He'll take on the Cardinals in his next start.
