Cole Hamels solid over six, gets win Monday night

by Steve Painter | Tue, Sep 12th 12:38am EDT

Cole Hamels rebounded nicely from his two most recent starts and led the Rangers to a 5-3 victory over Seattle Monday night in Arlington. Over six innings, he allowed six hits, three runs (all earned), and one walk while recording seven strikeouts. Two of the hits which accounted for all three runs were long balls compliments of Mitch Haniger and Kyle Seager. With the win, Hamel's record improves to 10-3 on the year. He will pitch again Saturday against Peter Bridwell and the Angels in Anaheim.

Fantasy Impact:

The Rangers are in the hunt for the second AL Wild Card spot and Hamels is at his best for this stretch run. Be an interesting few weeks to watch him and benefit if you're an owner.
