Corey Knebel takes loss against Pirates on Wednesday

by Brad Richter | White Sox Correspondent | Thu, Sep 21st 7:18am EDT

Corey Knebel (1-3) entered the game in the eighth inning with two outs and a runner in scoring position and the Brewers up by one run. Knebel proceeded to give up a slow grounder which he fielded but threw wildly to first base allowing the tying run to score. He continued to pitch in the ninth inning and allowed a walk-off home run to Adam Frazier with two outs to take the 6-4 loss.

Fantasy Impact:

Pitching for the third straight game, Knebel didn't appear to have his best stuff and it resulted in a loss for the Brewers as they remain one game out of the last Wild Card spot. With the Brewers opening a pivotal four-game series at home against the first place Cubs, Knebel will likely get a day off on Thursday.
