Erasmo Ramirez records a quality start

by Robert Finkelstein | Rays Correspondent | Sat, Sep 23rd 2:07am EDT

Erasmo Ramirez allowed one run on three hits while walking none and striking out 10 over eight innings in Seattle's 3-1 win over the Indians on Friday night. He did not factor into the decision.

Fantasy Impact:

Ramirez pitched an absolute gem, but exited the game after throwing 105 pitches (70 for strikes) with the score tied 1-1. The ten strike outs were a season high for the 27-year-old right-hander. His only blemish of the game was a solo homer hit by Giovanny Urshela in the third inning. Ramirez has now delivered seven quality starts in his past eight outings. He and Mike Leake have proven to be the most reliable members of Seattle's rotation in the latter part of the 2017 campaign. Ramirez will take his respectable 4.35 ERA and 1.14 WHIP into Oakland on Wednesday for his next scheduled start against the Athletics.
