Lucas Sims solid in win Monday

by Steve Painter | Reds Correspondent | Tue, Sep 26th 5:41pm EDT

Lucas Sims went 6 2/3 innings against the Mets Monday and emerged with the win as the Braves' won by a score of 9-2. Sims allowed five hits, two runs (both earned) while walking two and recording six strikeouts. With the win, his record improves to 3-5 on the year. He will pitch again Saturday against Odrisamer Despaigne and the Marlins in Miami.

Fantasy Impact:

At 6 2/3 innings, this was Sims' longest outing thus far and the Braves are being especially cautious of all the young arms, rotation and bullpen. For those in playoffs, heed the caution but yes, he is a low-owned streamable option for Saturday with the inherent risk he carries. For 2018, the team counts on him being in the rotation the entire year and he likely projects as a #3 starter.
