Justin Verlander picked up the win on Thursday afternoon versus Boston, allowing two runs on six hits over six innings of work. Verlander also struck out three and walked two.
Fantasy Impact:
Verlander was making his 17th playoff start today. The 34-year-old wasn't in vintage form, but he gave his team a chance to win, and the offense backed him up. Game 2 of the series will be played on Friday afternoon.
