Ichiro to become a free agent

by Brendan Tuma | Fri, Nov 3rd 4:57pm EDT

The Miami Marlins have declined Ichiro's $2 million option for the 2018 season. (Bleacher Report on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Ichiro is about to turn 45 but has said he wants to continue playing until he's 50. He hit just .255 this past season, but could provide value as a fourth outfielder to a young team. During his prime Ichiro was one of the best we have ever seen. In the 10 year stretch from 2001-2010 he hit .300 or better 10 times, won 10 gold gloves, and started in 10 All-Star games.
