Red Sox and Mariners show interest in Carlos Santana

Carlos Santana's agent is going to meet with the Red Sox this week at the GM meetings, according to Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe. (Nick Cafardo on Twitter)

Boston is in the market for a first baseman with Mitch Moreland currently a free agent. They have also been linked to Eric Hosmer, J.D. Martinez, and Giancarlo Stanton as potential offensive upgrades. Also, Jon Morosi of MLB.com has reported that the Seattle Mariners are interested in signing Santana. The 31-year-old hit 23 homers and posted a .818 OPS in 2017.
