Fantasy Impact:
As much as Diaz had a meteoric rise in 2016, he had an equally significant fall in 2017, eventually getting demoted to the minors. With Paul DeJong's ascension, there wasn't much room for Diaz with the Cardinals in 2018. Diaz, who is under control for four more seasons, should have a good shot to earn an everyday role in with the Blue Jays and be a potential infield option in AL-only leagues, at least.
