Hanley Ramirez is expected to serve as the primary number 3 hitter in the Boston Red Sox lineup this year, according to manager Alex Cora. (Evan Drellich on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
This is noteworthy since the news came following the presumed signing of J.D. Martinez. Ramirez will have to play first base again this year with Martinez playing every day at DH. It's unclear what this means for Mitch Moreland, but as of now this is a serious bump in fantasy value for Ramirez. He had a disappointing 2017, finishing with 23 homers, 62 RBIs, and a .750 OPS.
