Ryan Madson tosses perfect eight inning

by Christopher Berg | Thu, Apr 5th 5:42pm EDT

Ryan Madson came in the eight inning and struck out one batter. Madson threw nine strikes on 11 pitches. He only saw the one inning of action. He's now pitched three innings in the early going of the season and has struck out a total of two batters.

Fantasy Impact:

Madson came in relief of his bullpen-mate Brandon Kintzler who was touched up for a four-run homer. Madson fared much better in the eight inning striking out one batter in the frame. This outing wasn't much more than a tuneup for Madson as the game was already out of hand. Seemed like manager Dave Martinez was looking to get him some work. Madson should still be the top setup man for the Nationals.
