Taijuan Walker being placed on the disabled list with forearm tightness

Taijuan Walker was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right forearm tightness, the team announced on Twitter Sunday. Walker left Saturday's start against the Los Angeles Dodgers after just two innings due to the tightness, and while the team initially announced that they did not deem the injury to be serious and had not scheduled an MRI, he will now be sidelined for at least the next 10 days. Fantasy Impact:

While the team does not seem to feel that the injury is serious, forearm tightness is an early warning sign of trouble with the dreaded UCL that requires Tommy John surgery. For now, the team may be holding out Walker for precautionary reasons in an effort to avoid this becoming a more serious issue going forward. Monitor his status over the next week to see if he will be able to return as soon as he is eligible or if he will be out longer.
