Jake Odorizzi gets knocked around in Puerto Rico

by Carmen Maiorano | Wed, Apr 18th 9:55am EDT

Jake Odorizzi got roughed up by the Indians Tuesday, allowing four runs on six hits and a walk. The long balls did him in, surrendering homers to Francisco Lindor, Jose Ramirez, and Michael Brantley. He did manage to strike out six in the outing. His record fell to 1-1.

Fantasy Impact:

Ever since his Opening Day start, Odorizzi has had a rough go of it. It was nice to see Odorizzi cut back on the walks (five in his previous outing), but he still managed to struggle. He owns a 3.38 ERA and 1.36 WHIP to go with 19 Ks in 21 and 1/3 innings. These numbers seem to be unsupported, given his 4.67 xFIP. He is owned in 71% of leagues in Yahoo, but that percentage can be expected to come down after this performance.
