Welington Castillo picks up pair of hits in extra innings loss

by Waleed Hawatky | Thu, Apr 19th 1:04pm EDT

Welington Castillo finished 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run scored in Chicago's extra innings loss to Oakland.

Fantasy Impact:

Castillo had the second biggest of Chicago's 17 hits in this one when he doubled off of Oakland closer Blake Treinen in the top of the ninth. He was pinch run for at that point but his replacement, Tyler Saladino, would come around to score on the next at-bat on Tim Anderson's gametying single sending the game into extra innings. Castillo has been fairly solid at the historically thin catcherposition, slashing .257/.316/.514 with a pair of home runs and four RBI but holds upside given the imminent potential for 20+ dingers. He hit 20 in only 341 at-bats last year.
