Jeff Samardzija with shutout debut

Jeff Samardzija started his 2018 season Friday night with a five-inning shutout. The Giants had a 7-0 lead as Samardzija pitched the fifth. After walking the bases full, and two outs, Samardzija had to face Justin Upton. Upton looked to hit a grand slam but the ball was caught right at the wall to preserve a good outing and give Samardzija the win.
Fantasy Impact:
Samardzija has had a great strikeout versus walk ratio. He does have a losing lifetime record and a 4.09 ERA. You might expect a slight lowering of that at AT&T Park and he'd be a useful fantasy piece.
