Jeurys Familia blows save in brutal Mets’ loss to Atlanta
by Nick Ritrivi | Sat, Apr 21st 10:29pm EDT
Jeurys Familia, called on to convert a four-out save against the Braves on Saturday, was only able to get one out before blowing the save in the ninth inning and ultimately taking the loss in the Mets’ 4-3 defeat. In 2/3 of inning, Familia struck out two, but allowed a costly leadoff walk in the ninth, a triple and a walk-off drag bunt RBI single to Ender Inciarte.
Fantasy Impact:
Familia has now blown two saves in his last three save attempts and is 8-for-10 in save attempts this season. Despite his recent hiccups, Familia is in no danger of losing the closer role and is pitching well as he holds a 1.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP this season. Owners should continue to keep him active.
