Jake Lamb's rehab being shut down due to elbow tendinitis

by Mike Maher | Pirates Correspondent | Mon, Apr 23rd 9:07am EDT

Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo announced on Sunday that Jake Lamb has right elbow tendinitis and will be shut down until further evaluation. Lamb has been on the disabled list since early April with a left shoulder injury and was set to return as early as this week before this setback. (Steve Gilbert on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

An MRI on Saturday night found inflammation in Lamb's right elbow, and he is scheduled to be re-evaluated on Wednesday. While there were some rumblings that Lamb was going to return as early as Tuesday against the Phillies, it appears the Diamondbacks and fantasy owners will have to wait a little longer. It is possible that Lamb's elbow shows improvement on Wednesday and he will not have to miss much more time, but it is also possible that this setback could delay his return a couple weeks or longer. Check for an update on his status after he is evaluated on Wednesday.
