Matt Harvey allows one run in two innings of relief work vs Cardinals
by Nick Ritrivi | Wed, Apr 25th 8:51am EDT
Matt Harvey worked his first two innings of relief on Tuesday night against the Cardinals after having been bumped from the Mets' rotation into the bullpen. Harvey allowed two hits, one earned run and one walk while striking out two. He did not factor into the decision in the Mets' 6-5 win over the Cardinals.
Fantasy Impact:
Harvey didn't look terrible, but he was victimized by poor pitch location in his first inning of relief work on Tuesday. He now holds a 5.87 ERA on the season to go with a 1.43 WHIP in 23 innings. Deeper and NL-only league owners may wish to hang onto Harvey in the hopes that he can regain some of his past success through his work in the bullpen and reclaim a spot in the Mets' rotation. Of course, owners can't be blamed if they would rather use a precious roster spot on a pitcher who has shown and done more since 2015.
