Ryan Zimmerman hits fifth home run on Thursday

by Michael Felner | Fri, May 4th 4:25pm EDT

Ryan Zimmerman went 1-for-3 against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. The lone hit was a home run to center off of Pirates' starter Trevor Williams. Zimmerman is now batting .190 on the year with 15 RBI.

Fantasy Impact:

A month into the 2018 season, and Zimmerman's fantasy owners have to be wondering if last year's resurgence was an aberration. 2017 was the first season in four years that he'd played more than 140 games, so as long as he's healthy, the stats suggest he should have no problem batting .275 with around 30 home runs. That is a far cry from the .303/36/108 stat line from last season, but some regression is expected of a 33 year-old. Hopefully owners didn't pay too much on draft day for Zimmerman and can afford to be patient.
