Jonathan Lucroy extends modest hit streak to five games

by Waleed Hawatky | Tue, May 8th 12:35pm EDT

Jonathan Lucroy finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI in Oakland's 16-2 loss to Houston.

Fantasy Impact:

Lucroy tacked on Oakland's second run of the game with his ninth inning RBI double in Monday night's laugher and while that isn't exactly headline news, it's worth noting that Lucroy has strung together five games with a hit, and six in his last seven including three multi-hit efforts to see his line rise to .298/.365/.404. He's still as power-shocked as he was last year, having yet to homer this year and having driven in a paltry eight RBI but perhaps this is a sign that production is ahead as the A's lineup can certainly put up runs (though you wouldn't be able to tell from last three box scores). His counting stats aren't sexy but you can do a whole lot worse than this at catcher.
