Brett Gardner busts out of slump against Red Sox

by Michael Felner | Thu, May 10th 12:54pm EDT

Brett Gardner, mired in a 4-for-34 slump during the Yankee tear, slapped two doubles and a triple in Wednesday's game. He scored three times and registered two RBI. The triple came off of Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel, and put the Yankees up for good.

Fantasy Impact:

Fantasy owners will hope this is a sign of things to come for the 34 year-old leadoff hitter. There's little reason to expect Gardner won't be close to his career .262 AVG as long as he's healthy. He only has two swiped bags on the year, but is likely just picking his spots with the Yankees firing on all cylinders. He has an 81% stolen base success rate over 11 years, so he knows when to pull the trigger.
