Gregory Polanco goes hitless in loss to the Padres Sunday

by Ryan Orndorff | Sun, May 20th 10:09pm EDT

Gregory Polanco went 0-for-4 with a walk on Sunday in Pittsburgh’s loss to San Diego.

Fantasy Impact:

Polanco failed to collect a hit on Sunday but did walk once as the Pirates fell again to the Padres. His average has dropped a bit this season, sitting at .224, which would be the lowest mark of his career. Strikeouts have been a bit of a problem for Polanco, as he has been striking out at a career high rate. On the flip side, he is also walking more than ever, which boosts his on-base percentage to .335. Polanco still holds fantasy value, especially in leagues counting on-base percentage, and has steadily been improving after a rough start in April. He looks to be a solid producer in the power department and if he can offer the speed he has in the past, it will help make up for his current lack in the average department.
