Josh Bell goes hitless Sunday in loss to San Diego

by Ryan Orndorff | Marlins Correspondent | Sun, May 20th 10:44pm EDT

Josh Bell went 0-for-5 on Sunday in the Pirates’ loss to the Padres.

Fantasy Impact:

Bell failed to even get on base Sunday in five plate appearances. He got off to a cold start in April, hitting only .217 for the month, but has managed to bring his average up to .260. Unfortunately, his 25-plus home run power has not manifested itself yet. Through 169 at-bats this season he has only managed to hit three home runs. While his numbers so far have been a bit disappointing, he should provide more power than this going forward, and he is hitting .316 in May. His peripherals are all very similar to his career numbers, so there is no need to panic yet or sell low on Bell.
