Junior Guerra high pitch count leads to early exit

by Brad Richter | Mon, May 21st 6:43am EDT

Junior Guerra tossed 4 1/3 innings on Sunday against the Twins allowing one run on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts. He was forced from the game in the fifth inning at the 91-pitch mark with one out and a runner on third. Guerra ended up with a no-decision in the Brewers 3-1 loss.

Fantasy Impact:

Guerra struggled to find the strike zone consistently on Sunday with only 49 strikes out of 91 pitches which led to his early exit from the game. Guerra has only reached the six-inning mark twice in eight starts this season but still maintains a 2.98 ERA and 1.23 WHIP on the season. He is a viable option in deeper leagues when he takes the hill against the Mets on Friday.
