Lance McCullers pitched seven shutout innings allowing just one hit while walking two and striking out eight batters. The Astros' won 3-1 moving McCullers to 6-2 on the season with a 3.20 ERA.

This was the fourth time this season McCullers has completed seven innings in a game, showing his ability to master his pitch count, something he has struggled with in the past. McCullers has allowed 21 earned runs all season and eight of those came in one game, his second start of the season. Minus that outlier, McCullers would be considered an ace on any other pitching staff in the major leagues. His fantasy value continues to climb.
