Brandon McCarthy allowed one run on four hits and two walks while striking out five over 5 2/3 innings to earn a win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday. The win brings his record to 5-2 on the season.
Fantasy Impact:
McCarthy still sports a 4.67 ERA that is slightly inflated by two dreadful starts in early May that saw him give up 14 earned runs in 8 1/3 innings, but he has now allowed just two runs over his last 11 2/3 innings. His 1.58 WHIP is still a bit worrisome, but he will look to keep rolling when he takes on the Mets at home in his next start.
