Jeff Samardzija threw 97 pitches over 4 2/3 innings on Wednesday against the Astros. He struck out two batters and walked five. He allowed three earned runs on four hits, including a home run off the bat of George Springer.
Fantasy Impact:
Samardzija's numbers are down across the board this year. His 6.5 K/9 ratio is his lowest in eight years, and he sports an unsightly 6.23 ERA to go along with a 1.64 WHIP. Still owned in 63% of CBS leagues, owners might want to consider exploring other options, as the 33 year-old hasn't won a game in over a month.
