Starling Marte steals two bags Wednesday

by Ryan Orndorff | Mets Correspondent | Thu, Jun 7th 10:32am EDT

Starling Marte went 1-for-3 with two steals, an RBI and a walk on Wednesday as the Pirates were victorious over the Dodgers.

Fantasy Impact:

Marte now has 12 stolen bases on the season after his two steal night Wednesday, making him 10th best in the league. Not only has provided steals but it has come with seven home runs and a .294/.349/.477 slash line this season. Marte’s balanced skill set makes him a very valuable fantasy outfielder, providing steals, moderate power and great average. If the season ended today, his .294 average mark would be recorded as a career high. While he has a high batting average on balls in play, he tends to run high due to his speed, so there’s no reason to think he can’t keep up this kind of production.
