David Freese was called upon to pinch-hit on Saturday against the Reds and singled in a run.

Freese pinch-hit in the bottom of the sixth and came up with a ground ball single that scored Josh Bell and put the Pirates ahead by three. He’s been used more often as a bench bat lately, but still occasionally has been getting spot starts. He’s hitting . 262 with four home runs after a recent hot stretch in his past seven games. Without regular playing time, he is not worth the roster spot in your league.
