Yovani Gallardo struggles in first start of the season

Yovani Gallardo tossed five innings Sunday, allowing five runs on six hits and three walks, but he didn't factor into the decision during Texas' 13-12 win over Colorado. He struck out four batters and gave up one home run.

Gallardo started the season with the Reds but was released after three relief appearances when he had a 30.86 ERA. The 32-year-old veteran is starting because the Rangers are desperate right now. Fantasy owners should avoid Gallardo in all formats.
