Jordy Mercer drives in Pirates lone run against the Brewers

by Ryan Orndorff | Tue, Jun 19th 12:37am EDT

Jordy Mercer went 1-for-3 with an RBI double in the seventh inning of Monday’s victory over the Brewers.

Fantasy Impact:

Mercer provided the only run support for the Pirates but it was enough for the win behind Williams seven shutout innings. Mercer has not stood out in any category this season, but his bat has come alive in the past few games. He’s hitting more consistently and holds a .381 average with a home run in his last seven games. He’s riding a bit of a hot streak now, but he barely provides double digit power and has only ended one season with more than a .256 average. He’s not a valuable contributor for fantasy at this time.
