Hunter Strickland breaks hand; out six to eight weeks

by Dan Harris | Angels Correspondent | Tue, Jun 19th 7:37pm EDT

Hunter Strickland had surgery on Tuesday to repair a broken hand, which he suffered punching a wall after blowing yesterday's save. He will be out six to eight weeks. (Amy Gutierrez on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This is a tough blow for the Giants, who had leaned heavily on Strickland in Mark Melancon's absence this year. It's a strong bet that Melancon will find his way back into the closer's role, though Sam Dyson or Tony Watson could get some save opportunities as well.
