Jake McGee gets first save of the season

by Jeremy Farr | Thu, Jun 21st 6:32pm EDT

Jake McGee was called in to close out the game for the Rockies on Thursday as they took down the Mets 6-4. He allowed two hits, one earned run, no walks and struck out one.

Fantasy Impact:

Wade Davis was used in the previous game so it appears the Rockies didn't want to use him in this situation. It wasn't the best start to the ninth as McGee surrendered a leadoff triple who came home on the next play. He induced a flyout then gave up another extra base hit to make things interesting, but punched out Brandon Nimmo with three straight fastballs to end the game. He likely will not factor into the ninth inning going forward.
