Xander Bogaerts leaves game with left index finger sprain Friday

by Mike Maher | Padres Correspondent | Fri, Jun 22nd 10:20pm EDT

Xander Bogaerts left Friday's game against the Seattle Mariners with what is being described as a left index finger sprain. Bogaerts slid head-first into second base and had his left hand get awkwardly stuck under his body as he slid forward, and he was replaced by Eduardo Nunez before his next at-bat. Fantasy Impact:

Bogaerts should be considered day-to-day for now, but his situation definitely warrants monitoring in the coming days. He has missed time with hand and wrist ailments in the past, but there is not yet any indication that this was anything other than a precautionary removal yet.
