Junior Guerra strikes out seven Friday night
by Brad Richter | Sat, Jun 23rd 8:44am EDT
Junior Guerra pitched five innings on Friday allowing one run on three hits and four walks. He struck out seven Cardinals in the 106-pitch effort in a game the Brewers came back to win 2-1.
Fantasy Impact:
While Friday's effort didn't qualify as a quality start it was the eighth straight game that Guerra has allowed three or fewer runs for the first-place Brewers. Unfortunately, run support in Guerra's starts has been lacking as it was again on Friday leading to just three wins on the season for the right-hander despite a 2.82 ERA this season. Guerra will get his next crack at the win column when he travels to Cincinnati to face the Reds on Thursday.
