Reynaldo Lopez allowed five runs on nine hits over 7 2/3 innings on Saturday against the Royals. He struck out seven and took the loss.

Lopez didn't pitch poorly for most of the game, but he allowed a two-run home run in the eighth inning to ruin his pitching line. The youngster has seen his ERA rise in recent weeks, which represents simple regression to the mean from earlier in the season. For now, his lack of strikeout upside makes him not worth starting most times out, but he has enough potential to warrant owning in fantasy leagues.
