Alex Claudio placed on DL with an ankle sprain

Alex Claudio was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday with an ankle sprain. The move is retroactive to July 11, so Claudio will be eligible to return July 21. (John Blake on Twitter)

Claudio started out the year as the Ranger's closer but did not hold the job for long. On the season the veteran relief pitcher has a 4.32 ERA and 1.58 WHIP with 23 strikeouts over 41 2/3 innings.
